Ollie @Haricot
London-based painter Ollie White is delighted to present his debut
solo exhibition Something Borrowed at Haricot Gallery this September.
Through ten evocative paintings, Ollie White explores memory, intimacy, and identity using the recurring motif of shoes in boxes. These quiet
yet emotionally charged works blur the line between object and body,
o昀昀ering a poetic investigation into presence, absence, and the emotional
life of things. A graduate of the Royal College of Art and recent exhibitor
at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Ollie White is emerging as
one of London’s most compelling new voices in contemporary painting.

Northern Thai in Fitzrovia
Chiang Mai’s cult-favourite noodle bar Khao-Sō-i will open the doors
to its 昀椀rst international location this October, bringing Northern Thai
soul food to London’s Fitzrovia. Founded by husband-and-wife duo
Win Srinavakool and Por Haruethai Noicharoen the brand began life
as a 25-cover neighbourhood noodle bar in the Northern Thai city of
Chiang Mai - quickly drawing international acclaim for its signature dish
Khao Soi: a textured coconut curry noodle soup, voted ‘best soup in the
world’ by online travel guide TasteAtlas. Its success saw expansion into
Bangkok, and now their Fitzrovia location marks their debut permanent
site outside Thailand, following a sold-out pop-up in London in October
2024, where the team served over 500 guests each day.

AI-inspired Music in London
Arti昀椀cial intelligence and human emotion took centre stage this summer
as the Lim Fantasy of Companionship by composer Manu Martin and
songwriters Dr Susan Lim and Christina Teenz Tan premiered in a new
arrangement at St Giles Cripplegate, part of the Summer Music in City
Churches festival. Lim Fantasy of Companionship Suite is a chamber
suite that explores the future of human-machine relationships. The
piece evokes a world where synthetic beings may long for love, connection and purpose, and asks profound questions about identity and empathy. This bold and imaginative workpremiered in a new arrangement
for string quintet, 昀氀ute and piano by acclaimed pianist Mark Bebbington
and a distinguished ensemble from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
A previous arrangement for Piano, Flute and Strings Octet was performed at the same venue in 2024 and and subsequently recorded and
released by Signum Classics (SIGCD858). This performance marked the
debut of an intimate new arrangement, inviting audiences to experience
it in a fresh light.

that saw a fantastic programme of free music-themed family fun to help
celebrate the city’s homegrown musical talent and this year’s big summer of live music in the city. More than 昀椀fty thousand people took to the
streets during the day for the annual celebration of the city which once
again did not disappoint. Inspired by what is proving to be a sensational summer of music in Manchester, they enjoyed pop-up performances,
astounding acrobatics, and banging beats throughout the city’s streets
and squares as the whole city came together for Manchester Day 2025.
The council worked with outdoor arts specialists Walk the Plank on a
programme for the day that was full of surprises and lots of free fun, all
with a musical twist.
