Rome is one of those capitals that never fails to deliver. Of course the
Palatine Hill, the Pantheon and the Coliseum are de昀椀nite hits, but
as, you walk around, there are pieces of the ancient capital surprising
you around every corner. And braving the crowds in St Peter’s to hear
the Pope’s weekly address, is a once in a lifetime experience. All good
reasons to 昀椀nd a comfortable place to stay where you can relax and
rejuvenate.
Sporting genuine Roman hospitality, the stylish 4* hotel, Trastevere
Roma | UNA Esperienze o昀昀ers a blend of stylish modern comfort and
genuine Roman neighbourhood charm. It’s located in the lively and
historic district of Trastevere, and makes a modern and stylish base to
explore the Eternal City.
Housed in a palazzo with seven 昀氀oors, it was built at the end of the 19th
century as a residential complex for the upper middle classes. There are
94 rooms including 6 Junior Suites and 12 Suites, furnished in a style to
evoke the character of a beautiful home in Trastevere. Choose between
rooms and suites with street views or those overlooking the peaceful
inner courtyard.
We stayed in a Superior Room on the 5th 昀氀oor, bright and airy, with
a view over Trastevere. Double glazing and a huge comfortable bed
guaranteed an excellent night’s sleep. A chair and stool added a touch of
colour to the white and grey décor, complemented by an abstract picture
on the wall.
The modern bathroom has walk-in shower, washbasin toilet and bidet
plus a UNA fragranza courtesy set. There are 昀氀oor to ceiling double
windows, opaque for privacy, which open to embrace the morning air.
Of course 昀氀at screen TV, private safe, free Wi-Fi, Nespresso co昀昀ee machine, 昀氀u昀昀y bathrobe and bath slippers all come as standard.
The rooftop on the seventh 昀氀oor is home to the Vista Trastevere Roof
Bar & Restaurant. It’s open all day, serving breakfast, lunch, aperitifs
and dinner. The menu combines local specialties with internationally inspired dishes, all crafted with carefully selected ingredients and expertly
prepared by the Chef. The views over Rome are fantastic stretching all
the way to the Palatine Hill and beyond.
On the ground 昀氀oor is the BeVere Bar where the generous breakfast buffet is served year-round, with specialties inspired by Italian, American,
and Eastern traditions. During summer, guests may also enjoy lunch in
this space with hot and cold drinks served throughout the day.
The lobby, framed by arches and furnished with new vintage-style pieces, houses the reception area. At one corner is the internal courtyard, a
peaceful corner with a cobbled 昀氀oor. During summer, guests can take
advantage of the elegant umbrellas and tables for drinks and snacks.
O昀昀 the courtyard is a multifunctional room with seating for around 12
people, capable of hosting small meetings.
Trastevere itself is one of Rome’s most charming quarters: cobbled
lanes, ivy-covered façades, cafés, trattorias, artisan shops and a nightlife
that doesn’t feel too frenetic. Opposite the hotel is a daily street market,
o昀昀ering fruit and veg plus a variety of clothing. Five minutes’ walk is
lively Piazza di Santa Maria dominated by the beautiful Basilica di Santa
Maria with its gold-mosaic façade.
The hotel is pioneering an innovative new concept: “Rome by Romans
-Trastevere” based on the idea that Rome should not only be visited, but
discovered and fully experienced. This is not mere entertainment, it’s a
celebration of identity and the senses.
A variety of experiences, designed by locals, are on o昀昀er for hotel guests.
These include a complimentary curated tour of the local Trastevere district designed by the hotel team. You’ll visit local artisans in their workshops and tour the serene Orto Botanico gardens. They also o昀昀er luxury
cruises on the Tiber and a Fiat 500 Dolcevita Tour for an additional fee.
We liked this place for its comfort and genuine Roman hospitality.
And, after a hard day of touristing, you come each back each night to a
cosy room and a memorable rooftop view. But, best of all, it’s situated
right at the heart of Trastevere - a district that has huge personality,
cram packed with lively bars and restaurants, yet near enough to all the
sights.
